Debbie Pester – Proprietor / Director
M.Ed. ( E.B.D. & Pastoral Care) / B.Ed. (Special Needs, & Art & Design) Dip.AD / Member of BAAT

Debbie is the organisation’s Founder and Director. She has vast experience of special needs education, acquired throughout the years, with over 25 years as a head teacher in a range of special schools and units. Her vision of a highly specialist school has become a successful reality and she continues to pioneer new methods and ideas that will help young people reach their full potential.
James Pester – Director
Dip. Ed. ADES (SEN) / M.Ed.

James is a retired special school head teacher who now works as a director and self-employed consultant and advisor to The Yellow House.  In partnership with Debbie Pester, James helped to set up The Yellow House and has been involved in the running of the school since that time. He has had a career in working with children with special needs since 1976 in a variety of therapeutic school settings all over the country. For twenty years of that time James was in senior management roles including deputy head teacher and head of education.

David's journey into special needs education began when he was appointed as the English HOD at The Moat School in Fulham.  After becoming a Senior Teacher in 2007, he had the privilege of shaping the learning journey of all the pupils at The Moat School as the curriculum lead.  Moving to Essex and taking up a Deputy Head post at Kingswode Hoe School, David had to opportunity to further develop his leadership and therapeutic skills.  David enjoys all the daily challenges of being in a dedicated and vibrant school and helping all pupils to be the very best version of themselves that they can be.  
 
Sam - Therapeutic Manager / ASDAN Co-ordinator
Diploma in understanding and managing ADHD, Aspergers (High Functioning Autism) with the application of NLP
Sam joined The Yellow House team in 2004.  Prior to this she has had extensive experience working in mainstream schools with pupils with special needs.  She has been responsible for teaching and moderating ASDAN at The Yellow House with great success for many years.  
Designated Child Protection Officer
Jonny - Senior Team / Designated Child Protection Officer / Examinations Officer 
Level 3 Safeguarding Designated Person

Jonny has many years experience of working with young people in residential and day therapeutic special schools.  Jonny is the Designated Child Protection Officer  for The  Yellow House and has responsibility for the Maths curriculum.  Jonny teaches Maths at all levels to higher GCSE.  He also offers Statistics (GCSE) for those that excel in numeracy.  Jonny organises activities for all pupils during National schools Film Week each year.
Administration Team
Christine - Senior Team / Finance & Facilities Manager 
Christine is the school’s Finance & Facilities Manager and has worked at The Yellow House since it’s first year of opening. Lisa – Office Administrator
Lisa  joined us in the Summer of 2013 and is based at our Clare site. She is responsible for all day to day administration at Clare and has particular responsibility for the website, end of term reports and the organisation and administration of the annual review process for all our pupils on both sites. SENCo
Nandi – SENCo / Therapeutic Tutor
Nandi  joined us in 2015 with previous experience of working in the Technology Department at Stour Valley Community School.  Nandi is responsible for leading the Science curriculum and  teaching Therapeutic Art.  Nandi has experience of teaching a wide age range from 2-16 years.  Nandi is currently studying for a psychology and counselling degree outside of work.  Nandi has recently undertaken the role of SENCo at The Yellow House.

Debbie – Therapeutic Tutor
BA Hons – Health & Social Care / Mental Health
Debbie joined The Yellow House during the Spring Term of 2014. She has responsibility for leading English on the curriculum as well as Life Skills which includes facilitating sexual health education for our young people. Debbie has experience of working with young people for over thirty years in college and hostel settings.
Brenda – Therapeutic Tutor
Brenda has been with The Yellow House for over five years in a variety of roles. She is a qualified first aider. Brenda continues to support all of the young people for four days a week and specialises in teaching English and Life Skills.
Nick - Allotment Manager and Therapeutic Tutor
Nick first started working at The Yellow House in October 2014 and has over ten years experience of working with young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties. Since joining The Yellow House he has established a working self sufficient allotment which has massively expanded the therapeutic work carried out at The Yellow House.  As a result of Nick’s management of The Yellow Shed Project The Yellow House was shortlisted for a national innovation prize finishing as runners up.
Annie - Therapeutic Tutor
Annie has recently joined The Yellow House after returning to work following raising a young family.  Annie has experience of dance and drama which will no doubt benefit The Yellow House together with her passion for arts and crafts.  Annie's previous experience extends too working one to one in extremely challenging situations and she brings with her an enthusiasm for working with young people.  

Tiffany - Therapeutic Tutor
Tiffany has joined The Yellow House at the start of the Spring term 2018.  Tiffany has previous experience of working in SEN as a Student Mentor.  On a personal level Tiffany has first hand experience of living with a family member who has autism, ADHD and epilepsy.   
Shaun - Therapeutic Tutor
Shaun has recently joined The Yellow House during the Summer term .  Shaun has previous experience of working in SEN as a Student Mentor and Therapeutic Manager.  Shaun has a passion for humanities and is currently developing a therapeutic humanities course.
