In May 2015 The Yellow House attended the Randstad Education Awards at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham. Randstad offered a £10,000 prize for ideas to raise education standards in schools.
The Yellow Shed Project was selected from over 700 schools for the final six within the SEN category.
Unfortunately we did not win but we received a trophy in recognition of our work and some of our young people had the opportunity to attend a gala lunch and award ceremony which they greatly enjoyed. We also had a professional film crew visit the school and our allotment and the young people were part of a short film made about out project. The entire process was very fulfilling and has given us all motivation and impetus to continue to develop the project.
We are very grateful to the local community for all the support we have received in our gardening adventure so far. We continue to grow!
